One Bear Rating
Start having fun and learning together
- Get started by sharing stories, songs and rhymes together
- Your child will soon pick up on familiar sounds, words or finger play, e.g. This Little Piggy
- Help your child to join in and you will notice them trying to talk to you through a variety of sounds, e.g. gurgling and babbling
Two Bear Rating
Your child will enjoy these games if, with encouragement:
- They enjoy listening and responding to stories, songs and rhymes
- They can repeat words or phrases from favourite stories
- They already know some favourite stories, songs or rhymes that you have learnt together
Three Bear Rating
Your child will enjoy these games if, with encouragement:
- They are aware of how books work, e.g. that stories have meaning and pages turn
- Your child can listen to and remember stories
- They can tell a story back to you in their own words and will know in advance what is going to happen next
