Children's Book review

Footprints in the Snow

By Mei Matsuoka

Published by

Wolf is tired of reading about nasty, scary wolves, so he decides to write his own tale about a nice one.

Mr Nice Wolf spots some footprints in the snow and follows them, hoping their maker will become his friend. Along the way he meets a succession of woodland creatures who all refuse to believe that his motives for following the footprints are pure.

Mr Wolf traces the footprints to a big brown duck, who looks mouth-wateringly tasty… but Wolf awakes from his story- writing reverie right before things can turn nasty.

However, when Wolf sees a trail of footprints in the snow outside his house, it looks as if life might start imitating art…

Children will love the adventures of this well-meaning bow tie-wearing wolf, in this quirkily illustrated, wintry tale.
