Children's Book review

Look!

Published by Zero to Ten

The first thing that strikes you about this book is the almost indestructible, 'toddler proof' paper, and the friendly rounded corners. This is definitely a title that can put up with some rough handling. It's an extremely simple story of a little girl's trip to the supermarket with her father. She rides in the trolley, sneaks a bite of baguette, chats to a friend and takes in everything around her. The text is made up entirely of expressive sounds: Yippee! Look! Mmm! Nice! Cheerio! which are just the kind of words that small children like to focus on – though the reader may want to elaborate around them to talk about what is happening in the pictures.
