Meet Jamie, the 14-month-old bookworm...

Margaret Street, Bookstart Coordinator for Hertfordshire tells us about Jamie, a little boy who is a very big fan of This Little Baby...

I recently received a frantic telephone call from a grandmother in Stevenage who was desperate to locate a copy of This Little Baby for her 14-month-old grandson, Jamie.

She explained that Jamie was given the book in his Bookstart Baby Pack and it was his firm favourite. 'It goes everywhere with him - it's like his cuddly, but now he has lost it and he is devastated'.

Fortunately I was able to find another copy and posted it out that same day, along with a few other books for his collection. I was very pleased to receive the following reply

I would like to thank you very much again for the books you sent my grandson.

Jamie is a real bookworm and loves nothing more than sitting down with his favourite books. He was really upset when he lost his favourite Bookstart book, This Little Baby, however, [he was] was over the moon when a parcel arrived and he was reunited with his favourite… and more, thanks to Margaret Street!

The work and service that Bookstart do is invaluable to our next generation.
