In 2011, we celebrated transport in all its forms by going 'All Aboard!'

In 2011 our annual celebration of the Bookstart programme was bigger and better than ever, as, for the first time, we celebrated the joy of sharing stories, books and rhymes for a whole week, from Monday 6 to Sunday 12 June.

And the theme, All Aboard!, gave you with the perfect opportunity to share all your favourite stories, books and rhymes about transport, journeys and, of course, flights of the imagination!

To tie in with the transport theme, Jess Stockham illustrated a book for us called 'All Aboard!', featuring different type of transport – from zooming rockets to splashing boats. This would not have been possible without the support of publishing partners, Child’s Play International (Ltd.).

How did you celebrate?

There were so many inspiring 'All Aboard!' events that you held – involving open-air buses, hot air balloons, trains, boats and more – and it was great to hear what you had planned on our blog.
