From Monday 9 to Sunday 15 June, there were events across the country encouraging families to read with their child every day.

‘Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.’ – Christopher Robin in Winnie-the-Pooh (A.A. Milne)

‘My hero’ theme

This year’s theme was ‘My hero’, which provided the perfect opportunity to enjoy favourite hero stories, books and rhymes and enter a world of adventure and imagination! We were also thrilled to be supported by HarperCollins publishers in giving away special copies of Super Duck by Jez Alborough.

‘My hero’ resources and activities

Alongside the posters, invites and activity sheets that were sent out, there were also downloadable resources to make the week as accessible and engaging as possible for all families. These will remain available until next year, along with an online storybook, game, certificate-maker and Wall of reading heroes.
