  • Free story books for all children starting school

Has your child just started primary school? Thanks to the Booktime programme, your child will get a free book pack from their school this autumn term.

A brilliant programme and anything that encourages children to appreciate and enjoy books gets the thumbs-up from me. I loved reading with my daughter. It was a very sad day when she told me she could finish Harry Potter by herself.

    What's in the pack?

Given out by your child's reception teacher, the Booktime pack follows on from the Bookstart Treasure pack and gives your child books to keep, share and enjoy with their family and friends.

Inside your child's pack, you'll find:

    • The Tale of a Naughty Little Rabbit - a playful and funny retelling of Beatrix Potter's original story The Tale of Peter Rabbit. This lovely picture book introduces the escapades of Britain's most famous rabbit to your child.
    • Tim's Din - by Monica Hughes and illustrated by Bill Ledger. A lively and entertaining story about the mischief that little monkeys can get up to when they're bored.
    • Top tips for you to help make your child a confident reader
