    Bookstart 20

Time flies when you’re having fun

    Celebrating 20 years of Bookstart

This year we are celebrating 20 years of Bookstart – the much-loved reading programme that gifts free books to babies, toddlers and three-year-olds. We’ll be celebrating everything that the programme has achieved, including the 30 million free books that we have been able to gift since babies first started receiving packs in 1992.

The celebrations will launch officially in February and continue throughout 2012. We’re organising an exciting national birthday bash during National Bookstart Week in June and, if past evidence is anything to go on, we know that libraries, children’s centres and schools up and down the country will be pulling out the stops to mark Bookstart’s birthday with a bang.

    Get involved in the celebrations

Bookstart exists to give every child a flying start in life, and that’s why we’ll be asking for your support to help secure it for future generations.

We’d love for you to be involved in the Bookstart 20th year celebrations by making a simple pledge: to share 20 books in 2012. Look out for the pledge postcard in your local library or make the pledge online - see the link below. Follow the campaign online from February onwards. Watch this space …

Bookstart is a brilliant idea! There are so many books reviewed on the website, you will always find something good to read to your little one.
