Celebrate National Poetry Day with Bookstart

It was National Poetry Day on 6 October and this year the theme is games.

Did you know that babies and children who have the pleasure of hearing stories and rhymes get a flying start when it comes to learning to read by themselves?

With National Poetry Day this October, there's no better time to head along to a Rhymetimes event at your local library to join in the fun. There's also loads of rhyming fun that you can have with your child right here on the Bookstart website – and we've got our pick for you below.

Join in the fun with Bookstart's interactive rhyming activities!
