    Bedtime reading comes to Barnsley!

Libraries and children’s centres across Barnsley are this week celebrating the area's own 'Bedtime Reading Week'.

Running until 5 February, the week will be full of pyjama parties and other special bedtime-themed storytime events for families with young children. Bookstart Bear will be visiting Barnsley for the week, and is looking forward to joining in the fun!

Penistone fm Community Radio (95.7) will be airing bedtime stories each evening which will also be available as podcasts on their website until the end of February. Reading the stories are well-known local figures including Leader of the Council Steve Houghton, Councillor Miller and Ian McMillan.  Local author Val Noble will be giving the first reading of her new Elsie the Sheep story.

The aim of Bedtime Reading Week is to encourage all the family to get involved in the sheer joy and pleasure of reading aloud, and to promote healthy bedtime routines

If you live in the Barnsley area and want to find out more, contact your local branch library or children’s centre or call 01226 773920.
