National Bookstart Week 2016

National Bookstart Week 2016

We had a whale of a time!

National Bookstart Week 2016 was an underwater reading adventure to remember. From Monday 6 to Sunday 12 June there were hundreds of free events around the country for babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers and their families, at libraries, children’s centres, nurseries and bookshops. These under the sea-themed events included stories, rhymes and lots of fun activities to inspire families to read together.

We also partnered with publisher Barefoot Books to produce a special booklet edition of A Hole in the Bottom of the Sea, adapted by Jessica Law and beautifully illustrated by Jill McDonald. Throughout the week, BookTrust gave away 450,000 copies of this exciting underwater adventure, one for every child who attended a National Bookstart Week event.

The fun continues ...
