Booktouch

Booktouch aims to get blind and partially sighted babies and toddlers 'bookstarted'.

A Booktouch pack is available free to parents or carers of blind or partially sighted children up to (and including) the age of four. There are approximately 800 babies born each year who would be eligible for a Booktouch pack. 
 
These packs contain specially chosen touch and feel books.

• Good quality cotton shoulder bag
   
• Two touch and feel books
   
• A Booktouch booklet of advice about sharing books with blind and partially sighted children
   
• A Booktouch book guide listing lots more great books
   
• A leaflet listing useful services related to reading
   
• A Bookstart Rhymetime CD and book

(NB: By Autumn 2008 an alternative touch and feel book option will also be available for children of 2-4 years).

Health professionals are Bookstart's principal gifting partners of Booktouch packs to eligible children.
